The digital imaging system consists of a SPOT digital color camera and an Olympus BX60 optical microscope. The combination is an excellent system for digital photomicrography delivering spectacular color images.

The Spot camera is equipped with a cooled Kodak KAF - 1400 CCD with a pixel resolution of 1315 x 1033. This camera uses 3-shot digital technology to derive true, non-interpolated red, green and blue values to the CCD. This results in crisp, vivid, high resolution images, addressing a variety of microscope imaging needs. Its Windows NT based control software provides a user-friendly interface for focusing (up to 4 frames/sec in single color), image archiving, and image processing.
