Procedures for obtaining access to the facility

Prerequisites for regular users and hourly users:

• To use the facility, applicant(s) must attend the chemical safety training course offered by the MSU Office of Radiation, Chemical and Biological Safety. For information, please contact ORCBS at (517)-355-0153.



• To use the scanning electron microscope in the facility, applicant(s) must complete a SEM training course such as the one offered by the College of Natural Science through the Center for Advanced Microscopy.

Procedures for becoming regular users:

1. An application form for gaining access to KMF must be submitted along with an one page proposal.
2. Cleanroom training will be provided to new users.
3. Once the Consent Form is signed and returned. A magnetic card will be issued to each qualified user.

Procedures for hourly users:

1. An application form for gaining access to KMF must be submitted along with an one page proposal.
2. Complete a Questionnaire
3. Cleanroom training will be provided to hourly users.
4. To start using the facility, the applicant must have the Consent Form signed and returned.

Procedures for requesting service:

1. An application form must be submitted.
2. Write a detailed proposal/job description for the service.
3. Complete a Questionnaire.
4. Submit above forms to the KMF committee for approval.
